PUTTING PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS

Problem: Why won't my putter sit flat?

Solution: Because it’s not flat! Problem solved, make my putter sole flat!

Problem: Why does my ball bounce and bobble and not roll true?

Solution: Because you are chipping it with the 4 degrees of loft that is on your putter! Why does a putter have loft? No one knows! Problem solved, make my putter face zero loft!

Problem: Why do I miss long and short and struggle with distance control?

Solution:  Because your putter face is too shallow and that makes it hard to hit the sweet spot. Problem solved, make my putter face deeper.

Problem: Why do I miss right and left?

Solution: Because the face is open or closed at impact which happens because you are manipulating or guiding the putter. Problem solved, make my putter heads heavier just like so many tour players do!

Problem: Why do my breaking putts not hold there line and miss on the low side?

Solution: Because you are miss hitting your putts in the heal or toe and these miss hits change the ball speed off the face. Problem solved, make the sweet spot bigger by balancing the head with a stability core of brass.

Problem: Why do I sometimes hit my putts through the break and the ball takes off like a rocket?

Solution: Because you are not confident that the energy of the stroke matches the break and speed of the green. Problem solved, make the head weight of the putter and shaft length the perfect combination to match the speed of the green. (My secret fitting formula)

Problem: Why do I take the putter outside on the way back and cut across it?

Solution: Because the shaft length, lie angle and head weight don't match your intention. Problem solved, go through a fitting / lesson with Craig to figure all that out.

Problem: Why do I struggle with my feel?

Solution: Because your putter face may have an insert or a variation of grooves that alter the sound and what studies have shown is sound is feel. Problem solved, precision mill my putter heads out of one block of 6061 aluminum, insert a solid brass stability core and connect both the core and the head to the shaft.
